Back frm china!!!! ok,,,tis gonna be a suuper long post? BackGround Information :: ->Country:: China ->Province:: Yunnan -> Village :: DaTangZi ->Place Staying :: Kunpei Motel-> DaTangZi primary -> New Era hotel ->Weather:: Day 22 to 23 Night 21> (depends) ::Group 3:: -> Joycelyn -> Aisha -> Iddayat -> Renjie ->Miss Tan -> Mr Raj Travel Route:: Kunming--> WenShan---> Xichou--->Ben gu Cun ----> Da Tang Zi China Trip:: Day 1 - 22 May 08 Kunming international airport--> Kunming international trade centre-> breakfast--> journey to Ni le -->Lunch at Ni le-->journey to Wenshan--> Dinner at Wenshan-->Kunpei Motel @ wenshan Reached Changi Airport t3 at abt 10.30 Meet up with grp 3 did last min stuffing of da rations in...went to departure hall...plane fly at abt 3am ++ fel asleep on da plane..missed dinner...reached china abt 7 am plus ther is a bus provided at kunming airport..Met tour guide Li ther although her nglish is rather inaudible she taught us many things there... we first headed to walmart at kunming trade centre to buy prizes for da kids at de village...Bought scissors soccer balls ping pong balls staionary... i bought 2 packets of pencils for the kids.... Went for breakfast....a small buffet...then went back to the bus..along the way we saw the horror of yun nan...the toilet... journey to Ni le was about 4 hrs journey... ::Ni Le :: -> Quite a rich county of de yun nan province ->Famous 4 tobacco leave and wine Had lunch in the halal restaurant in Ni le..the food was mostly beef..Alvin cant eat much....so i company him... dun eat...we went toilet...then went back to bus...the food leaves a weird taste in ur mouth...Journey to wenshan was about 8 hrs..omg... ::Wenshan:: ->Miao Autonomous Prefecture China Trip:: Day 2:: -23 may 08 Travel Route :: Wenshan-> Xichou->Ben gu Cun->DaTangZi Somehow my hp alarm rang at about 4 am...woke mr Raj up....oops....... Woken up by mr raj at abt 6.45 am...washed up....went to mdm wee's room to get breakfast( milo and a muffin) ran up and down the motel 2 to 3 times to get hot water(my room is on the top 5th floor) ...ate de muffin...went toilet..."bombed" all de food out (In tis China trip shitting/ pangsai is code named "bomb") went downstairs to lobby and met tour guide li and met up with de nxt grp...we dumped our luggage on the bus bottom...i took my "survival pack" on the bus...on with our way to the village... it took us abt half and hour to reach xichou...usual scenery...lots of farming... when we were near ben gu cun...tour guide li asked us to alight and walk a small distance as he bus had problems carrying us up....we alighted..teachers took photos....walked awhile more boarded up again... the bus took us all the way up to DaTangZi.... when we alighted many students were in a straight line shouting 欢迎 欢迎 热烈 欢迎 ....we were stunned...ok fine...walked on...Entered DaTangZi primary ::DaTangZi Primary:: -> The place we are staying for 5 days -> Beautiful Scenery ->ABout 100++ students consisting of kindegarden 1 primary 1,3,4,5,6 -> Horror Toilets we entered the school..the principal welcomed us and showed us where to put our stuff... Guys bunk :: "science" room Gals bunk :: "computor" room went for assembly..i could say tad was the best assembly i ever seen....their 理正 was cool...nobody moved nobody flinched...absoulute silence....principal talked...mdm wee talked...mr wong talk...and their dismiss was cooler... when the principal said dismiss..every1 clapped coodinately..and ran....left speechless.... Initial plan was to dig the well..but due to sudden changes...me aisha and yau on had to teach first...we came into the class..we froze...tried to talk but was jibberish...then mdm wee came in...she took the entire lesson..whoa...she is professional(duh)...we taught them hokey pokey!!! it was cool when every1 did it together... Every1 came back frm the well digging...heard it was tiring....the kids were dismissed for their 2hrs lunch break..AT HOME...(they hav to run up and down mountains to get to sch so 2hrs is nt long)we had our own lunch..first round porridge....after tad the kids came back...tis time teaching really started.... i returned to my primary 3 classes....ok at first they were kinda sian...but after much talking....and mrs murali's hopeful attempts in communicationg with them in english..they all gt exicted...taught ABCS, family and taught them how to fold paper frogs....they so love the paper frogs...refused to let go of it .... they did the rafia art nxt....we picked a few nice 1 out...i met Xingshan frm this...the kids were so enthusisastic when we took out prizes..every1 was jumping hoping to get picked...when euu pick 1 of them the rest will go awwww.....and look sad...ur heart really feels sad for them... school ended and abt 5pm++ had the assembly...lowering of flag....i helped a small girl clean up the class...i gave her 2 of the pencils i bought in thanks... Had dinner...chicken abalone INSTANT NOODLES...then we help set up the things for the movie screening... kung fu hustle was played...it ended abt 9pm++ we helped clean up the place and had debrief.... tis was where desmonds famous phrase came..HEART MELT HEART MELT.... powder bathed...went to slp at abt 11 pm ++...cant really slp..dogs barking chicken screaming lazy update more tml |
